M.R.S. Communications supports FOR Cardiff in achieving its Purple Flag accreditation
M.R.S. Communications is delighted to share that FOR Cardiff has secured a Purple Flag accreditation for the city of Cardiff.
The Purple Flag is awarded to towns and cities which manage their evening and night-time economy (ENTE) with incredibly high standards. The accreditation has been awarded to Cardiff by the Association of Town and City Management (ATCM) for offering an enjoyable, diverse and safe night out in the capital city.
FOR Cardiff, the city’s Business Improvement District (BID), led the successful application for the Purple Flag accolade. The organisation has funded training sessions for clients and employees on vulnerability awareness, administered Night Marshals to help people get home safely, and signed up over 100 businesses to the CityNet Radio system.
M.R.S. Communications are partners of the Cardiff Against Business Crime (CABC) organisation, and provide Cardiff with the CityNet scheme. CityNet provides employees of pubs and clubs with a direct line to CCTV and other night time venues, enabling users to alert each other and the authorities of potential issues in the area. This can substantially reduce the risk of crime and provide a higher level of safety and security to staff and customers alike.
The radios supplied by M.R.S. Communications use the latest digital technologies to provide effective communication around the Bay and town centre areas of Cardiff. Staff training is also administered by M.R.S. Communications to ensure the equipment is being used to the highest standards.
David Horton, Managing Director at M.R.S. Communications, comments on the accreditation:
“We are extremely proud that Cardiff has been awarded Purple Flag status for its safe and secure nightlife. We have worked with FOR Cardiff to ensure that the CityNet scheme is effective, and that it is used by as many companies as possible within the city.
We look forward to continue working with FOR Cardiff to tackle crime prevention, and hope to see a continued decline in the crime rates within this wonderful city.”
